The new cape cod chairs coming are from a different supplier and are made from a harder wood and the paint finish is for outdoor use. So the paint won't peel off and the wood won't split. However with all outdoor furniture if exposed to the elements for many seasons it will age over time.

These look great but does anyone know if they are suited for prolonged outdoor use? I heard of previous issues with paint peeling and wood splitting.
