bridiemain.jpgActress Bridie Carter is well known across Australasia for her role as Tess McLeod on the top-rating drama "McLeod's Daughters".  Bridie has been EziBuy’s Brand Ambassador for the past three years and like many women, has proved herself a highly-efficient multi-tasker, juggling not only her EziBuy role, but also motherhood (Bridie and husband Michael are the proud parents of son Otis) along with her "day job" of actress.  Oh, and she's a great dancer too, overcoming her nerves to kick up her heels in great style and win Australia's "Dancing with the Stars" in 2007.  Bridie's popularity as an actress has also seen her receive public recognition with a host of Logie nominations—in one single year she was named in three separate categories, the Gold Logie, Most Popular Actress and Most Outstanding Actress.

2nd Day Of Winter

Hello! Hello!

For some ridiculous reason - I have been thinking that it has been Winter for a month - but, alas - no. Yesterday was the first day of Winter. Where has my haed been at? Too busy I suspect. It is rather chilly today though - even in Northern NSW.

Apologies for not blogging last week - but, between flying back and forth to Melbourne, Flooding here at home and the Swine Flu - things have been a little hectic to say the least!

I have been and still am shooting a new Australian film called I LOVE YOU TOO in Melbourne - which is a lot of fun. I have a great role - the film is written by Peter Hellier, Melbourne comedian and directed by Daina Reid. It will be released on big screen next year, and I look forward to all your feedback then!

But, being in Melbourne has been a little chilly - I have been favouring my long boots - flat, so good for walking, and comfortable. There's that word again - always looms in my fashion descriptions! Comfortable.

When I was down there shooting the other week, I woke up, baffled by the lack of light at 6.30 in the morning - when I looked out my hotel room window, the thickest, most beautiful fog had descended overnight. Fog really makes me want to snuggle and layer up. Luckily I had my merino singlets that just add that extra layer of comfort and warmth.

I wish I had have had one of those long cardies, though. Especially when I get picked up anywhere from 4.30 am - you really want to maintain that element of bed, even when you are out of bed, too early in the day to be acceptable. A long cardie could have been a super doona replacement.

Jo, thanks for writing in to me - I know you love a long cardie. And all the wonderful coats go without saying.

Actually I am sitting here now in what I can only describe as Sausage Dod Flannelette PJ's. Anyone own a pair? I think I got them in the Autumn range - pink with little brown canines? Really cosy. Let me know if you have any too?

I also need to say a special hello to Zuzanna from Poland - I really have no right to cmplain about our cold here - it does not even compare to the fierceness of a Polish winter, I am sure. I have travelled a lot, but have never been to Poland. I have read many books set in Poland, especially when I was a teenager, I was fascinated with your country. I hope I can visit some day soon.

Please believe in your dreams, Zuzanna. My experience in life is that more than my own dreams have come true - the life I live today is beyond my wildest dreams. I am grateful, always. (Except when I am having a really, really bad day - not often!). Your English is wonderful, I understood every word. I have no doubt you will come to Australia one day, if that is what your heart desires. Anything is possible. If my intentions are real and true, anything can happen in my life. Big dreams!!!!

I am hoping to buy my first horse soon - I have not ridden in 2 years which is crazy, because I love it so much.

In fact I was just telling my little boy about my horse on McLeod's, Oscar - real name Beau. I still love him, you know. We are going to go over to South Australia where the show was filmed soon, and I hope to visit him. We had a great bond him and I. I was the only actor on the show who rode the same horse the whole time I was there - five years we had together. He was a cranky bugger - but, I loved him.

So, rug up, layer up everybody - let me know what your favourite Winter piece of clothing is. I'd love to hear your tips too. Anyone into hats? Scarves? Love a vest!

Hope you are all well - I am back and forth to Melbourne this week and next - blog me - I'll read you somehwere and look forward to blogging back.

Take care and dream, dream, dream......

Love always,

Bridiexxxxxx

Dear Bridie,

I just wanted to thank you for helping me feel better about myself. I've only just now seen McLeods daughters and have searched the net to find out more of what you have been doing since leaving that series.

I have had a rough 10 years (marriage break, raising four children alone and training to become a primary teacher). I know I had lost my way in all the business of raising children, working and studying full time. While watching you on McLeods D, I started to remember the young fun outgoing girl I used to be and had somehow lost. You brought back all the beautiful memories of the fun life I've had and I connected many times with your character Tess.

I watched you on 'Dancing with the Stars" and I loved every moment. I too am hard on myself and work hard to achieve the best I can do. You are such a beautiful person and your husband and little boy Otis are fortunate to have you.

I just wanted you to know that you have inspired me to find that fun-loving girl I used to be and enjoy my life again. You seem to be a very natural and understanding person who cares about others. Thank you!

I can't wait to follow your career and look forward to seeing the movie "I love you too". Thanks for being a blessing to me!

Kind regards,
Sandy xo

Hello Bridie

For a long time I tried to come in contact with you:)
My name is Tanja and I'm 17 years old. I live in Switzerland and I am a big fashion lover;)
I have so much clothes that I don't know where I should let them lie down:) haha

I have been reading your blog for some time, but I didn't have the courage to write to you.
It is very exciting to here what do you do at the moment and what tips you are give n the people. I am also impressend how open you talk about yourself and your work or your familiy.
I really like to inform myself about you or your new projects:)

I'm also a big McLeod's Daughters Fan. I have already see all episodes.
I was so sad when you leave McLeod's. Tess was always my favourite character.
I have never given up hope that you will come back again. In the last episode of McLeod's I thought mybe Bridie is coming for this last episode, but unfortunately it wasn't so.
Did you see the last episode of Season 8?

I have you already written by your Autographaddress, but since two years I didn't hear anything. So I didn't know if you got the letters or not, so I would ask you, if you have maybe an other address, where I can write you?

I hope you can understand my English, because I'm trying to do my very best!
I love to speak English, but I know I make sometimes some faults.

Now I would like to hear something from you, something it doesn't matter what.
I look forward to hear from you!

Many sunny and warm regards from Switzerland!

Dear Bridie,

I`m glad to ?meet? you here. Since years I try to contact to you but you sadly don?t have a site on myspace or facebook like Lisa Chappell oder Simmone Jade Mackinnon.
Maybe you?ll think about it and join to our ?facebook community?, that would be great!

I?m from Germany and I am a big fan of ?Tess?. Sadly here in Germany we only know you from McLeods because other Australien dramas don?t arrive to us.
?Tess? was so warmhearted, adorable and humorous... I loved her! ;-)

That you seem to be as generous as ?Tess? and to be so interested in social problems make me very impressed. I think it is false to close your eyse when you see sorrow and injustice. It?s necessary to sort things out and this is what you do. I am so inspired by your work!

Bridie, I hope to read more from you and I also hope to see your new movie here in Germany.

Love,

Daniela

Hello Dear Bridie,

I am just very excited because I write to you. I am a fan of you since Mcleod's daughters first result ran in Germany. I would like to introduce myself briefly but first. My name is Sandra and I live in Germany.

I already watch your Blog of beginning but I lacked the courage to write to you. I find it very interesting as you write about her life, her work and her family . It is as almost so a friend would be you! I admire how much energy have you for everything and you defray her work and her life with how many heart and passion. I wished I could make it just the same.

I love of The series Mcleod daughters and particularly the character Tess. You simply play of here fantastically and I at the enthusiastic again and again. I laugh and cry with Tess and always feel with here. You are my absolute darling into the series. The sun rises for me if you are smile. I admire of here for here performance ace Tess and for are of social bond.

I wished I could get an autograph of you. I wrote to you within the last few years six letters to her autograph address but unfortunately, I haven't received any answer to this day. Is it possible to get an autograph, then?

Dear Bridie,

warm greetings from Germany! Hope everything is fine!

Thank you so much for doing this blog and giving us the opportunity to talk to you!

There are some really lovely clothes here on ezibuy! But unfortunately I can't either afford it (don't mention that you can't buy here from abroad) or it's definitely not my size. I'm mostly too tall for female clothes :(! Bought my first pair of boots last winter (and I'm 26 yrs!!!). Found them in a shop for large shoes. Luckily I could afford them and I love them. The boots are brown and made of suede with lamb's wool on the inside and some "decoration" on the outside! Thanks to the boots I could start dressing myself fancy with an over knee skirt, a pair of thick thights and the boots :D! I can recommend it :D!

Loved your character on McLeod's :D! Tess was and still is my favourite character! It was sad when you left but it was understandable :D! And you were amazing in DWTS!! Hope it's still possible to contact you via Shanahan Management. I'd really love to get an autograph :D

What breed of horse do you want to buy? Awww...that's so sweet of you that you want to visit Oscar/Beau. He is a beautiful horse. Didn't noticed that you were the only one with one horse. The other horses looked so much alike that you couldn't find out if the actors/actresses got another one. So Oscar/Beau is a unique horse :D!! I think your son will love the horse :D! Otis grows so fast, doesn't he?

About our tips: I bought one of those hats that looks a bit like an armycap. It's black and a bit thicker. Unfortuately it doesn't cover the ears!

Good luck for your new film. Hope we will be able to see it in Germany!!

All the best for you and your little family

warmest regards
Sabrina

Hey Bridie,
How are you? I know you are busy - just thought I'd leave a comment anyhow for when you do drop in. Hope "I love you too" is going well ... I can't wait to see it.

I've got some new threads from Ezibuy on order. I can't wait to receive them. I hope they fit - never bought online before. (yes, I'm an old timer)(but a big kid inside - so the children tell me). Its nice to be able to spend 'hard earned' money on myself ... it's a special memory for me. 'Independence'

I've been watching you on DWTS (on you tube) and love what you accomplished! When I was studying in the city, I went Latin dancing and loved it. I am having fond memories of that time now watching you - especially as 'Esmerelda' and 'Eva'. That rumba 'Time After Time' was breathtaking! I loved the freestyle too, (saltwater wells in my eye).

So I just wanted to say thanks again for inspiring me. I've found someone here, in the country who will give me some lessons and help an 'old girl' find her feet again. No pressure ... but you are a beautiful person and what I know of you, I admire!

Cheers,

Sandy :-)
