 | | | Actress Bridie Carter is well known across Australasia for her role as Tess McLeod on the top-rating drama "McLeod's Daughters". Bridie has been EziBuy’s Brand Ambassador for the past three years and like many women, has proved herself a highly-efficient multi-tasker, juggling not only her EziBuy role, but also motherhood (Bridie and husband Michael are the proud parents of son Otis) along with her "day job" of actress. Oh, and she's a great dancer too, overcoming her nerves to kick up her heels in great style and win Australia's "Dancing with the Stars" in 2007. Bridie's popularity as an actress has also seen her receive public recognition with a host of Logie nominations—in one single year she was named in three separate categories, the Gold Logie, Most Popular Actress and Most Outstanding Actress.
Bridie Carter August 31, 2009 Hi all,
Thankyou for your lovely words. I will definately hook something up on Facebook or Twitter or an eqivelant.
I know you will all find me - I might even link something up on the Bridie Carter website - which is not of my doing, but they have done a great job!
Big love and hugs to you all,
See you soon and talk soon,
Bridiexxxxxxxxx Bridie Carter August 28, 2009 Hello hello hello dear friends,
Like you, I too love logging on and reading all your comments and questions and news from around the Globe. This new technology of blogging has really got to me!
Which is why, I am very sad to say that my time with Ezibuy has come to an end (all good things must come to an end sometime!), and as I bid thos fantastic Company goodbye, I must also say to all of you, Tinki, Monique, Tanja2, Bobbie,Daniela, Dorothy, Tanja and everyone else.......I have a few more days left before I am off.
I want to thankyou all for your friendship, and as I was talking to my agent the other day, I think I may have to get even more technical and continue this blogging, this communication in my own capacity. So stay tuned - I will let you know somehow!
Monique, NYC is one of my favourite cities - I have family there. And we were in Rome last year - I love love love Italy - would love to spend 3 months there!!! Dorothy, my name is Irish as my father has an obcession with Irelan. My brothers are Barnaby and Darcy! There are not too many Bridie's in Australia. We were in London and Nth Devon mainly last year. I would love to visit Ireland and Nthn Ireland and Scotland and Wales. My best friend is English and her father is in Scotland, so we may get there. I am sure we will be back in Europe some time soon. I have a film I Love You Too coming out next year - hope you all get to see it. And am shooting a couple of other little things out here, and still working on 2 film projects of my own.
I have to tell you all - I am really going to miss you! I will kick my own butt and find out how I can continue linking up with you all. It does feel like we have our own little community!
When Tess got married , the strange thing was, that I got married 4 weeks later - so I was essentially preparing for 2 weddings at once! I absolutely had a say in Tess's Wedding gown. I thoight she would be simple and elegant, and I hope we achieved that!
Anyway, there's a few more days left. I just want to thank you all for being a part of Ezibuy's Style Blog - with out you it wouldn't have made much sense or have been as successful as it has.
And thankyou Ezibuy for having me as your Ambassador over the last four and a half years - it has been an honour to be associated with such a vibrant, accessible and steadfast company.
Look forward to more farewells and "I;ll see you soons"
Big hug to you all
Bridiexxxxxxxxxx Bridie Carter August 17, 2009 Hello to Tanja2, Bucki, Jo,Tinki, Monique,Simon, Dorathy and Tanja and everyone else out there!!!!
How wonderful to blog on now and see all your fabulous comments.
It is amazing that we can all connect through Eziby all over the world in different time zones, different lives, different seasons and share in our ever growing Ezibuy Style Blog Community!!!!
Very, very cool.
Now to cover a few housekeeping questions - no matter where you are in the world, if you have access to a computer, you can order Ezibuy online via the Ezibuy New Zealand Website. It's that easy.
If you are having problems with sizing there are sizing guides to help you as well as online guidance available for any questions. Make sure you sign up as there are always lots of great bargains - like free postage and special offers and the latest clothing and homeware styles.
So, no one has to miss out.
I also get the hardcopy catalogues sent to me - as I am still an old-fashioned girl - quite partial to a magazine and catalogue!
Tinki - I love Italy. Where are you from -I was there last year and was dying to see myself speaking in dubbed Italian in the TV. I actually have a town full of relatives in a little village in Italy - my Great Grandfather was an artist and immigrated here to Australia.
I would go back to Italy in a second I love it so much.
Hello to Simon and Dorathy in the UK? Where abouts are you both from?
And Bucki in Texas - have spent time in NYC and LA but have not made it to Texas yet!!!!!
Another Tanja2 joins us and so good to hear from you Tanja1 and Monique and JO - I told you the homeware was good - there are "several" blue and white bags stacked in my loungeroom awaiting inspection - the quality of the manchester is so good - especially when you see the price. The thing I love about Ezibuy is you don't have to be a billionaire to have quality products and well made , fashionable clothing. We all deserve the best!!!
And we all need treats and spoiling - life is short - all we have is today!
Anyway, love to you all. Thankyou so much for taking the time to Blog me - look forward to hearing all your news and more and to meeting some new friends as well.
Been home a week and a half, and me and my little gypsy-family are off to Sydney again. I am filming there and hoping to also catch up with friends and family. My little boy can't wait to see all his cousins!
Talk soon,
Bridiexxxxxxxx Bridie Carter August 12, 2009 HI EVERYONE
And a big hello to all those new bloggers - so good to hear from you.
Thankyou for all your lovely words - it is so great to log on and read your messages and get your feedback - as I always say - there are friends all over the world we haven't met yet.
I am back in Byron Bay, and heading back to Sydney next week again. Today, I smelt Spring in the air - it was such a glorious day and the air smelt kind of sweet and full of promise. It's a hopeful smell, Spring - if that makes sense. And everyone seems to have a little smile on their face. It's a pretty nice feeling.
I know the weather is a bit crazt in Europe, but in Australia today it was beautiful - in my little part of Australia, anyway.
I have not seen photos from NIDA do on Saturday, and not sure if my shoes are in shot, but they are some great Ezibuy heals I got about 3 years ago. I love things that don't date - Ezibuy Red Carpet!!!!
Thanks for keeping me up to date with info, Tanja!
It is lovely having a personal connection with Ezibuy, Carla - so glad you have Blogged in. I love these little exchanges we all have - its a great way to keep up to date with fashion, life and what's happening around the world with everyone.
Please try not to stress, Sandra - I hope things are not too difficult for you at the moment. I can get really stressed too - especially when I am so busy. Hot shower or a bath or some exercise or a good chat with a girlfriend can do wonders! Look after yourself. Tell your friend to come to our restaurant when she gets to Byron Bay. It is called Bayside Dining Traditional Thai in Fletcher St near the beach - its really lovely, traditional Thai food.
And hello Monique - you can order from the Netherlands - you just go onto the New Zealand site and its easy. We have people from all over the world who wear Ezibuy. Which is great. Its lovely to have another new voice on line with us.
Just got the new Spring Home catalogue - why am I so obcessed with homeware? I just love it. And there is some great stuff - all those beautiful colours.
I am also addicted to dresses - love a good frock and have just flicked to an Urban Maxi strapless number - very nice!
Look forward to hearing from you, send me all your news - what are your favorites this season?
Bridiexxxxxxx Bridie Carter July 25, 2009 HELLO ALL
Thankyou again for all your comments and a special hello to regulars, Daniela and Sandy and Jo!
And a new hello to you, Jenine.
I absolutely take on board your comments, Jenine, and I have just had a look on line at the SARA range.
I guess what Ezibuy try and do is keep favorites available in their ranges - this can be terrific if you want to buy another item in a different colour or print or version. Sometimes I get disappointed when things are out of stock and no longer available. So, its a Catch 22 I guess.
I have chosen a few of my favorites from the range, so see what you think. I agree with you - no matter what a woman's height, weight, shape, shoe size (we are all different - thank God!) we all have the right to dress in a way that makes us feel good about ourselves. And that means different things to different people. clothes are expressions of who we are, and I know Ezibuy always endeavors to cater to every one of us, as varied as we all are.
I have also asked asked the Designers for SARA if they can give us a little more feedback on what's coming up for SARA - so I hope this all helps. Here are some of the pieces I love -
Sara Crop Jeans
Sara Crossover Drape Dress- "gorgeous"
Sara Knit Skirt
Sara Lace Dress
Blouse And Camisole
Cropped Sleeved Jacket
Sara Hooded Anorak
SARA maxi bead trim dress - love this one
SARA quilted dress
Print Tunic
Beaded Tunic
Print Dress
I hope this all helps - and I'll lt you know when I get some feedback from the Designers.
The sun has been shining here in Northern NSW which is a great relief after all the rain we have had - Spring wardrobes are going well here. Lovely dresses and t's in the day and layering up for an evening.
Our European friends should also be enjoying Summer and egtting ready to really layer up come Autumn. Have a look on line because there are some amazing specials to be won - did you get the email about the Mystery Discount? Up to $1000 can be won. Yippee - that would be nice.
I hope you are all well and happy - I am in Sydney next month working - shooting a new Campaign.
Hopefully the sun will continue to shine there and we will continue to smell Spring in the air.
Talk soon, and please..... more feedback and questions and comments......
I love hearing from you all.

Bridie Carter July 14, 2009 Hello again -
Not sure if any of you found my mini-blog in the "comment" section.
Apologies, I left my laptop at home as we were away for several days - was a little difficult logging in on my iphone, and had left all blogging details at home. Silly me! So. apologies once again.
But........more importantly - have you seen Spring???? I know some of you have already put in orders - I'm about to put a new one in right now. I don't want to miss out. Oh, and by the way for anyone who loves a batgain, there are some great discounts on many items so check it out. I do love a bargain myself - although it does seem to justify me spending more sometimes - my mind can work in funny ways when it comes to shopping! But, as we all know - life is short - enjoy and be happy!
I just cannot get over the glorious colour of our new Spring range - after all the warm and often darker colours of winter, it really is so enlivening and refreshing. And so pretty and feminine.....The Emerge Summer Trench is a knockout! And the Urban Double Layer Top in Aztec is such a gorgeous design. Many choices, many choices......Capture have the most elegant and simple Shell Top in Oatmeal or white - so, so lovely.....
Someone asked me if I had any say in what Tess wore in McLeod's. Absolutely. One of my preparations for an episode would be to go through each scene with the Wardrobe Designer and work out what Tess would wear. I am a trained Actor (NIDA), and a big part of a character is their clothing and how they express themselves. We can learn so much from a character by their costume - it can help the emotional content of a scene. If a character is traumatised or angry or vibrantly happy, clothing can reflect a mood. I have always been very detailed in these choices. With Tess, we always had a bit of an edge to her, as she grew up in the city, unlike her sister who was very classic born and bred. A pair of shoes can make me feel entirely different and can alter and inform a character's walk, posture, outlook and attitude. I find it all a wonderful facet of my job. And I have always loved dressing up, putting on a costume!
Capture have all these gorgeous Tunic tops - I know Tess would have loved them! great cuts and really great fabrics. Also the Capture Pin-Tuck shirts would have been right up her alley. In fact Ezibuy would have been wonderful for her stuck on Drover's Run. I can imagine her late at night in the study on the computer ordering on line. Can't you????
My little boy is helping tonight - this is his contribution!
0tdwe789uiigtugyjitityjfyhhruytgu Very interesting writing for a 4yo!!!!
Love to you all, look forward to hearing back from you and meeting new friends......
BRIDIE XXXXXX Bridie Carter July 7, 2009 Hello to all,
Just finished my last Winter titled Blog and our Spring Catalogue at EZIBUY is launching. Fashion is always a little ahead - which I find refreshing - especially when you see all the beautiful Spring clothes full of colour and life! We are still in winter mode here in Australia, but to see the gorgeous Spring clothes got me all excited of things to come - might be an idea to make a few little purchases now - get in ahead of time.
I also found out for all my new Europe friends that you can order from the New Zealand website - so anywhere, anytime, wherever you are in the world - EZIBUY is available. That is pretty cool.
What also struck me about this new range is the femininity - I love clothes that accentuate and reflect our feminine sides. It is nice to feel like a woman, when so often I can opt for comfortability and practicality - if you know what I mean?
"Coral" is the word on the street - the new Spring colour!!!! We get it first at Ezibuy! And Candy Pink (love pink) and all sorts of blues - cobalt, French and China Blues. Sounding pretty heavenly, huh?
Will update you further when I have some more info on new season! Have a wonderful week wherever you are - stay tuned to the Ezibuy Blog Community!
Love to you,
Bridiexxxx Bridie Carter July 1, 2009 Hello All!!!!
I too get excited when I see you have all written, and I have to say hello to you Zuzanna, Sandy, Tanja,Daniela,
Elin, Sabrina, Sandra, Jo,Elly, Arieke - love all your comments and fond hello's!
We are the Ezibuy girls - getting together online, forming our own little community. It is a very loving and comforting feeling in this sometimes crazy world!!!!
My little boy had his first day back at pre-school yesterday - we were both very excited! He was going a little stir-crazy at home. My little family has been reminded over the past few weeks how precious life is. One of my son's teacher's died very suddenly last week, and the week before a lovely man who I worked with on McLeod's for five years passed away. Both young, before their time, both parents, both dedicated and really wonderful, giving people. I guess you never know when your number is up - it reminds me to not get caught up in the little things, the unimportant things - to remember that all I have is today. And to love, love, love those around me and never take anyone or anything for granted!
Jo - I am a woman who thinks you can definately never have too much of anything! As long as its not a damaging thing! I have never been good at moderation and if scarves are your thing - go for it!!! They are a great accessary. I think my favorite Eziby item would have to be.......oooh, too many! I have this great silver/grey jersey dress I am really into at the moment. I live in all the merino jumpers and gorgeous woolen singlets. Have you seen the Isobar stuff? See - too much. I love that there are so many different looks and styles to choose from. I am actually ready to put in a new order now - and I am up for some new sheets! And lovely Egyptian Cotton Towels!
To explain to Elly and anyone else not from Australia - milo is a chocolate powder that is lovely with hot or cold milk - not too sweet. I do the low-fat version as a bedtime treat sometimes - with hot water and a dash of milk. Very yummy and great if you can't sleep. Which can happen to me if I am stressed or really busy or excited - I'm sure you all know.
I didn't know you could visit the old McLeod's set - I guess I still think of Drover's Run (its real name is Kingsford) as my home. I had and still have the strongest and most fond memories of that house - for me and Tess, if that makes sense. I think playing a character for that length of time - Tess will always be a part of me. I was so lucky to have been given that role.
Tanja, the movie I was working on was called I LOVE YOU TOO, and it will have cinema release next year. I am sure it will got to Europe and many places around the world, so I hope you all get to see it. It is a romantic comedy - lots of people should enjoy it! I had a great time making it.
I am also working on a couple of my own projects amongst other things, so hopefully you will all be able to share these with me too one day.
Anyway, it is 9.15pm and I am still working, and I am really not sure where the hours in the day go - but, I have to say my Blogs to you all don't really feel like work, more a lovely chat with new and some not so new friends.
Have a lovely rest of the week, all of you. Look forward to hearing from you. I will also try not to order too many blue and white packaages - which is hard to to resist!! We all need treats and things in the post to look forward to!
Take care and fly high.......enjoy friends and family!

Bridie Carter June 25, 2009 HI Everyone
Thankyou thankyou thankyou for all your wonderful comments from all over the world!!!! I can't believe I have all these friends I haven't met yet. It is so fantastic.
A little update and apology on the past two weeks - finished filming and back home. Then my little boy got sick, nothing serious, but a little scarey at first - we ended up in hospital for 3 days which is why I have had a little blog gap in my blogging, so please forgive me! I know you all understand.
We are back home and a little house-bound for now, but it is good to be home - you don't get a lot of sleep when your child is in hospital - one night I found myself kind of curled up at the end of his bed, feet half hanging off - you have to laugh !
Please don't ever feel shy or too scared to blog in and say hi. If you don't - it's kind of lonely out there in the land of Blog. I got so excited when I saw all your comments.
If I have not responded to fanmail in the past - I have your letters, I promise. The truth is, I am still trying to find the time - because I want to respond myself. It will happen - hopefully sooner rather than later. I do keep everything I have been sent.
I am about to hop into bed with my milo and latest Ezibuy catalogue - an absolute comfort and luxury to me!
I had a little flick through the other day - that Emerge Spy Coat is still calling me. And that roll-neck marino I forgot to order!!!! And what about Urban? Very groovy. I don't know if you European girls can order from over there - I'm sure you can.
I will blog-in again tomorrow when I have slept a little more and will probably make more sense.
Look forward to reading more blogs from all of you
Love always,
Bridiexxx
Bridie Carter June 2, 2009 Hello! Hello!
For some ridiculous reason - I have been thinking that it has been Winter for a month - but, alas - no. Yesterday was the first day of Winter. Where has my haed been at? Too busy I suspect. It is rather chilly today though - even in Northern NSW.
Apologies for not blogging last week - but, between flying back and forth to Melbourne, Flooding here at home and the Swine Flu - things have been a little hectic to say the least!
I have been and still am shooting a new Australian film called I LOVE YOU TOO in Melbourne - which is a lot of fun. I have a great role - the film is written by Peter Hellier, Melbourne comedian and directed by Daina Reid. It will be released on big screen next year, and I look forward to all your feedback then!
But, being in Melbourne has been a little chilly - I have been favouring my long boots - flat, so good for walking, and comfortable. There's that word again - always looms in my fashion descriptions! Comfortable.
When I was down there shooting the other week, I woke up, baffled by the lack of light at 6.30 in the morning - when I looked out my hotel room window, the thickest, most beautiful fog had descended overnight. Fog really makes me want to snuggle and layer up. Luckily I had my merino singlets that just add that extra layer of comfort and warmth.
I wish I had have had one of those long cardies, though. Especially when I get picked up anywhere from 4.30 am - you really want to maintain that element of bed, even when you are out of bed, too early in the day to be acceptable. A long cardie could have been a super doona replacement.
Jo, thanks for writing in to me - I know you love a long cardie. And all the wonderful coats go without saying.
Actually I am sitting here now in what I can only describe as Sausage Dod Flannelette PJ's. Anyone own a pair? I think I got them in the Autumn range - pink with little brown canines? Really cosy. Let me know if you have any too?
I also need to say a special hello to Zuzanna from Poland - I really have no right to cmplain about our cold here - it does not even compare to the fierceness of a Polish winter, I am sure. I have travelled a lot, but have never been to Poland. I have read many books set in Poland, especially when I was a teenager, I was fascinated with your country. I hope I can visit some day soon.
Please believe in your dreams, Zuzanna. My experience in life is that more than my own dreams have come true - the life I live today is beyond my wildest dreams. I am grateful, always. (Except when I am having a really, really bad day - not often!). Your English is wonderful, I understood every word. I have no doubt you will come to Australia one day, if that is what your heart desires. Anything is possible. If my intentions are real and true, anything can happen in my life. Big dreams!!!!
I am hoping to buy my first horse soon - I have not ridden in 2 years which is crazy, because I love it so much.
In fact I was just telling my little boy about my horse on McLeod's, Oscar - real name Beau. I still love him, you know. We are going to go over to South Australia where the show was filmed soon, and I hope to visit him. We had a great bond him and I. I was the only actor on the show who rode the same horse the whole time I was there - five years we had together. He was a cranky bugger - but, I loved him.
So, rug up, layer up everybody - let me know what your favourite Winter piece of clothing is. I'd love to hear your tips too. Anyone into hats? Scarves? Love a vest!
Hope you are all well - I am back and forth to Melbourne this week and next - blog me - I'll read you somehwere and look forward to blogging back.
Take care and dream, dream, dream......
Love always,
